OYSTER BAY, NY – The Oyster Festival annual oyster eating and shucking contests will take place on Tuesday, but will look a little different this year.
The contests are ceremonial and symbolic this year, due to safety precautions in place in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
In place of the traditional contests, the festival committee has invited a select group of contestants to participate. Each shucker will see how fast they can shuck 12 oysters.
