Motorcycles Damaged In Break-In At Billy Joel's Mansion: Reports

CENTRE ISLAND, NY — Police are investigating a break-in at Billy Joel's Centre Island home in which someone damaged a garage door, 12 motorcycles and a home office, according to reports. Police confirmed to Patch the break-in happened between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:15 a.m. Monday.

The burglar damaged a garage door and entered the home on Centre Island Road, police said. Once inside, the person damaged a dozen motorcycles and a home office, police said.

TMZ and CBSNewYork both reported the home belongs to the world-famous singer and musician, but that Joel was not at the home during the break-in. A photo showed a broken glass door that leads to the garage.

Nassau County police told Patch on Wednesday no arrests have been made.

Detectives ask that anyone with information about the break-in call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

Joel is known for being a motorcycle aficionado. In 2010, he opened his motorcycle gallery "20th Century Cycles" in Oyster Bay.
