'No Swimming Advisory' Issued at Local Beaches

Fourteen Nassau County beaches have been affected by stormwater runoff.

The recent heavy rainfall has led the Nassau County Department of Health to issue an advisory against bathing at 14 beaches along the North Shore on Tuesday.

The advisory is a precautionary measure due to the stormwater runoff, which can cause exceedances of the state’s standard for bathing water quality.

Nassau recommends residents to stay out of the water at the following beaches:

  • Laurel Hollow Beach – Laurel Hollow

  • Pryibil Beach – Glen Cove
  • Ransom Beach – Bayville
  • Theodore Roosevelt Beach – Oyster Bay
