Oyster Bay Coronavirus: Golf Course Closed Until Further Notice
"We apologize to our residents for this inconvenience, but the safety of our residents and staff must come first," Supervisor Saladino said.
OYSTER BAY, NY—Oyster Bay officials have closed the Honorable Joseph Colby Golf Course in Woodbury until further notice in light of the current emergency restrictions and conditions. Town officials made the announcement Monday.
This closure is being made out of an abundance of caution following the continued increase in coronavirus cases, they said.
“The State of New York has closed the Bethpage Golf Course, and in light of this decision, the town has decided to follow suit and close our golf course as well, effective immediately,” Supervisor Joseph Saladino said. “We apologize to our residents for this inconvenience, but the safety of our residents and staff must come first, especially in a time like this. The town will continue to do everything in its power to protect our senior citizens, and our most vulnerable populations who have been most effected by this public health threat.”
