Oyster Bay Cove Ranked Among Safest Places in New York

Other Long Island communities also made the list.

One of the greatest things about living in Oyster Bay Cove is you don’t need to sleep with one eye open at night.

According to Alarm System Reviews, the Village is the No. 23 safest place in New York.

To determine the safety rankings, the website used data from several national sources to find the number of violent and property crimes in towns with at least 2,500 residents. The website then used the total number of crimes and the reported population to assign an overall crime rate per 1,000 residents.

The rankings say Oyster Bay Cove, with a population of 4,248, has a 0.0 violent crime rate and a 3.5 property crime rate per 1,000.

“The Village of Oyster Bay Cove is located in Nassau County within the town of Oyster Bay. The affluent Village on Long Island was originally founded in 1931 and was later expanded in 1963. One of the wealthiest communities in the country, the median income per household as well as a family exceeds $200,000.”

Compared to Waterbury, Vt., however, Oyster Bay Cove residents are living life on the edge. Vermont was ranked the No. 1 safest state in America and Waterbury is its safest town, according to Alarm System Reviews. New York was ranked the No. 16 safest state in America.

The rankings say the safest place in New York is Stockport, a town located south of Albany.
