Oyster Bay Expands Summer Rec Program With Full-Day Camp Sessions

OYSTER BAY, NY — The Town of Oyster Bay has expanded its summer recreation program this year to include a full-day option, allowing campers to stay through lunch at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park and Marjorie Post Park in Massapequa.

The full-day program will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a supervised lunch hour included, but campers must bring their own lunch. The traditional camp program will continue on at Allen, Plainview-Old Bethpage, Tappen, and Theodore Roosevelt parks, running from 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 to 3 p.m., with campers being picked up for lunch hour.

The camp program, which runs Tuesday, July 6 through Friday, Aug. 13, is open to children ages four through 12 who reside in the town. Registration is now open, and the deadline is Friday, June 11.

Councilwoman Michele Johnson said the program features “great activities for children, including arts and crafts, various games, theme days, water fun, and scavenger hunts.”

“With a variety of options available at six locations throughout the Town, this program offers parents a fun and affordable option for their children this summer,” she said.

The fee for the full-day camp program is $560 per child, and $460 for each additional child in the same family. The fee for the traditional camp program is $400 per child, and $300 for each additional child in the same family.
