Rotary Club Gives Out Dictionaries
Oyster Bay-East Norwich third graders get free dictionaries.
Can you spell G-E-N-E-R-O-S-I-T-Y?
Now third graders in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich School District can – and look up what it means – after receiving free dictionaries courtesy of the Oyster Bay Rotary Club.Â
The books, through The Dictionary Project, were handed out at James H. Vernon School on Sept. 16 by Rotary Club President Donald Lyons and colleague W. Michael Smith.
Lyons told the young recipients that these dictionaries come with a warranty. From now until the children graduate from high school, the Rotary Club will replace dictionaries for any child that needs a new one.
Inside the cover of each book is a message from the Rotary Club, a four-way test of things we think, say or do. Â
