Long Island Weather: Strong Storms Possible Tuesday Night

Thunderstorms are likely on Long Island Tuesday night and there's a chance some of them could be severe, the National Weather Service says.
The highest risk of severe weather will be north and west of New York City. A tornado watch has been issued for Sullivan County in the Catskills.
Long Island could see strong wind gusts and locally heavy rainfall. Storms are likely from about 8 p.m. Tuesday until 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Any showers should end by sunrise Wednesday and temperatures will remain unseasonably warm on Wednesday and Thursday.

Tuesday Night- Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly between 8pm and 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southwest wind 11 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Wednesday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph.
Wednesday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. Light and variable wind.
Thursday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Light southwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
Thursday Night- A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Southwest wind around 10 mph becoming north after midnight.
Friday- Sunny, with a high near 69.
Friday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 53.
Saturday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 68.
Saturday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 59.
Sunday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.
