Special Weather Statement Issued For Long Island
Dangerous conditions on roadways after yesterday's snowfall.

The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Long Island:
Some roadways and walkways across the region are either snow covered, slushy, or wet. Temperatures will remain at or below freezing through mid morning, resulting in icy conditions, especially on any untreated surfaces. Motorists need to to be especially cautious due to the possibility of black ice.

Today- Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. West wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight- A chance of flurries after midnight. Increasing clouds, with a low around 29. West wind around 11 mph.
Monday- Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 41. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. West wind 10 to 13 mph.

Monday Night- A slight chance of snow between 9pm and midnight, then a chance of rain. Increasing clouds, with a low around 34. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
Tuesday- Rain likely, mainly before 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47. South wind 8 to 16 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Tuesday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Breezy.
Wednesday- Partly sunny, with a high near 30. Breezy.
