The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Long Island:
Areas of fog will develop through the night as a warm front approaches from the south and passes to the north late. Dense fog is possible, especially along the coast, with the visibility lowering to 1/4 mile or less. Anyone out driving later tonight should be ready for rapid fluctuations in visibility, use low beam headlights or fog lamps when encountering fog, and allow extra braking distance in case sudden stops are needed.

Saturday Night- Showers likely. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 61 by 1am. Light southeast wind becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
