Weekend Snowstorm May Interrupt Mild Weather
60 degrees tomorrow and a snowstorm this weekend? It could happen.

Surprise, surprise, snow is back in the forecast. Temperatures will flirt with 60 degrees on parts of Long Island Thursday, but don't break out those outdoor lounge chairs. Temperatures will plunge into the 30s come Saturday and a quick-moving storm could bring accumulating snow to the area.
Here's what we know right now:
- Snow is expected to begin falling Saturday evening and continue into early Sunday.
- Based on current forecast models, the bulk of the precipitation is likely to remain offshore. The National Weather Service says the island may see a half inch of snow.
- Joe Cioffi, a meteorologist for WPIX-TV and FiOS1 News, is currently predicting 1-2 inches of snow for the island.
Once the snow ends Sunday, temperatures will begin to warm up again and we will likely see temperatures back in the mid-50s come Tuesday.
