2021-22 School Budget Voters Guide: Peekskill, Hendrick Hudson
Voters in the Lakeland, Peekskill and Hendrick Hudson school districts will be going to the polls Tuesday. Here's what you need to know.
PEEKSKILL-CORTLANDT, NY — Voters around Westchester County will be going to the polls Tuesday to approve their school district's budget, including the Peekskill, Hendrick Hudson and Lakeland districts.
Also on the ballot are elections for school board members and some other propositions.
In the Peekskill school district, voters are being asked to approve a $101.4 million budget for the 2021-22 school year. That represents a budget increase of 2.85 percent and a 0.97 percent increase in the property tax levy.

Two three-year trustee seats are open for full three-year terms. The candidates are incumbents Pamela Hallman-Johnson and Allen Jenkins Jr.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Peekskill High School.

In the Hendrick Hudson school district, voters are being asked to approve an $84.3 million budget for the 2021-22 school year. That represents a budget increase of 2.6 percent and a 4.5 percent increase in the property tax levy.
There are also two propositions:
- The district is asking for one wheelchair bus and one 72-passenger bus. It also wants to replace two hydraulic lifts in the bus garage. The amount is not to exceed $525,000.
- There is also a library budget in the amount of $1,153,183 for approval.
Two three-year trustee seats are open for full three-year terms. The candidates are Jennifer Bakker, Alexis Bernard, Lukis Deikis and Sarah Rubin.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Frank G. Lindsey Elementary School in Montrose.
In the Lakeland school district, voters are being asked to approve a $168.3 million budget for the 2021-22 school year. That represents a budget increase of 2.1 percent and a no increase in the property tax levy.
Three trustee seats are up for election. The candidates are Tatyana Krychkina, Marisa Ragonese, Carmella Pervizi, Vincent Xavier, Anna Massaro and incumbents Michael G. Daly and Angela Conti.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Van Cortlandtville Elementary School.
