There's lots of fun going on the weekend before Thanksgiving. Here are your Patch editors' picks for fun events to put on your to-do list for Nov. 23-24.

- Ice Skating At Bear Mountain. The rink is open for public sessions. There's even evening skating on Fridays and Saturdays. Daytime sessions start at 1o a.m. Saturday and Sunday. It's outdoors and uncovered so you really get the winter experience. And entrance and skate rental fees are very reasonable. Go here for details.
- Meet the Animals. Cranberry Lake Preserve, 1609 Old Orchard St., North White Plains: (914) 428-1005. 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday. If you love animals you will want to come to this program! Meet the nature center animals and learn all about them.
- International Pickle Festival. The annual event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 1055 Route 32 South in Rosendale. There are pickles, boy are there pickles. There are contests. There's a lot more, with 100 vendors. It's just fun. Learn more here.
