Air Quality Advisory Issued For Rockland, Westchester
It's also going to be hotter than normal. Consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity, health officials say.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the NYC metro area, which includes Rockland and Westchester counties, New York City and Long Island.
It's in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Air quality isn't good in the rest of the lower Hudson Valley either, according to the DEC.

People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease.
It's going to be hot, too. In fact, through the work week, temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees above average.

"It’s likely that a bubble of heat and humidity will set up over the northern and eastern portions of the United States," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. Here's their prediction through Thursday:
- Sunday: partly sunny; high 90 degrees, low around 65 degrees
- Monday: partly sunny; high 90, low around 65
- Tuesday: mostly cloudy with a scattered shower or two possible. very humid; high 86, low around 70.
- Wednesday: scattered thunderstorms; high 89, low 71
- Thursday: hazy, hot and humid. high 93, low 73
