Cortlandt, Buchanan, Peekskill Power Outages At 5,747 After Storm

PEEKSKILL, NY — As public works crews and Con Edison move through Peekskill and Cortlandt cleaning up after Tropical Storm Isaias, officials reminded residents not to cut or move trees or branches tangled in wires until Con Ed has confirmed that no wires are "live."
Peekskill firefighters were called out to several burning live wires during and after the storm tore through the Hudson Valley.
Con Edison reported 2,106 Peekskill homes and businesses still out of power as of 12:45 p.m.; 129 in the village of Buchanan; and 3,512 out of power in Cortlandt.

For Cortlandt residents, Con Edison is distributing both dry ice and bags of ice near Best Buy at the Cortlandt Town Center, 3125 E Main St, Mohegan Lake. Hours of operation- 11:00 A.M. to 7 P.M.
Cortlandt also opened up a shelter at the Muriel H. Morabito community center off West Brook Drive Wednesday morning.
