Cortlandt To Hold Memorial Day Ceremony Friday

Attendees are being asked to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing.

UPDATE: Because of the forecast weather for Friday, the ceremony will be held at the Muriel H. Morabito Community Center.


VERPLANCK, NY — The town of Cortlandt will be holding a Memorial Day Ceremony Friday.

Town officials said they will be acknowledging and thanking all the veterans for their service to the United States, especially those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial at Cortlandt Waterfront Park, 77 Riverview Ave., off Riverview and Broadway in Verplanck.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at the Muriel H. Morabito Community Center, 29 Westbrook Drive in Cortlandt Manor.

The town is asking that all attendees maintain 6-feet social distancing and to wear a face covering during the ceremony.
