Cortlandt Manor Student Earns 2016 All-Liberty League Accolades

RIT's Brandon Cohall earned All-Liberty League postseason honors.

ROCHESTER, NY (05/25/2016)-- Brandon Cohall of the RIT baseball team earned 2016 All-Liberty League postseason honors, as the league announced its annual awards on Tuesday, May 17. Cohall was a second team selection.

Cohall, a 2014 All-Liberty League honorable mention pick and 2015 second team selection, was RIT's most consistent hurler in 2016, going 4-4 with six complete-games, two shutouts, and a 2.73 earned run average. He recorded an incredible strikeout to walk ratio of 55-5, allowing opposing hitters to bat just .243 in 56 innings. On April 17, Cohall threw a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts in a win over Rensselaer and also shutout Clarkson with a three-hitter on March 26. All six of Cohall's starts in Liberty League play were complete games. In four seasons at the university. Cohall won 13 games with a school record five shutouts, 2.99 ERA and 148 strikeouts in 180 1/3 innings.

The Tigers finished the 2016 season with an 18-22 overall record, finishing fifth in the Liberty League standings with a 12-12 mark.
