Cortlandt Waterfront Park Clean-Up Part Of Riverkeeper Sweep

Preregistration is necessary for all volunteers, as will be masking wearing and social distancing.

VERPLANCK, NY — The 10th annual Riverkeeper Sweep, a day of service for the Hudson River and its tributaries, will include a clean-up event at Cortlandt Waterfront Park.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.Saturday, May 1. The boat launch is at 6 Riverview in Verplanck.

Volunteers can join the Cortlandt Community Rowing Association and Riverkeeper at the Cortlandt Community Boat Launch parking lot where the clean-up will begin.

Preregistration is a must for the Sweep, and people need to bring their own masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and water. All volunteers should wear sturdy shoes or boots, clothing that can get dirty, a hat and sunscreen.

There will be 125 project sites up and down the Hudson River for the Riverkeeper Sweep, including clean-ups, removal of invasive species and planting projects.
