Hendrick Hudson Holds Budget Hearing Wednesday
The public is being asked to approve a $84 million spending package for 2021-22.

MONTROSE, NY — The public hearing on the proposed 2021-22 budget for the Hendrick Hudson School District will be held virtually at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The public is invited to submit and read comments, but they must be sent to Board of Education Clerk Carmen Koch by noon Wednesday.
Each registered community member will be provided access to enter the Zoom meeting and will be given three minutes to read their comments

The proposed budget is $84,300,766, with a 2.6 percent increase over the 2020-21 spending package.
School officials estimate the following tax increases:

- Cortlandt: 3.8 percent
- Peekskill: 14.4 percent
Besides the budget votes, there are two other propositions for the public's consideration.
The district is asking for one wheelchair bus and one 72-passenger bus. It also wants to replace two hydraulic lifts in the bus garage. The amount is not to exceed $525,000.
There is also a library budget in the amount of $1,153,183 for approval.
The annual budget vote will be from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 18. Polls will be at Frank G. Lindsey Elementary School, 57 Trolley Road, Montrose.
There are two three-year board of education seats up for election. On the ballot are Jennifer Bakker, Alexis Bernard, Lukis Deikis and Sarah Rubin.
