Hudson Valley Forecast: Freeze Watch Overnight

Thunderstorms first, then it's going to get steamy. Here are the details.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — There is a chance of thunderstorms through the early evening hours Monday. Those thunderstorms will be capable of producing gusty winds and small hail.

More importantly for anyone who uses Mother's Day as their seasonal signal to plant flowers and vegetables, frost and freeze conditions could kill or damage sensitive vegetation overnight — and there is a chance for freezing temps in the mid-Hudson on Tuesday and Wednesday nights as well, the National Weather Service predicted.

"Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold," the NWS wrote.
