Lights! Camera! Peekskill!

Local media production company Stupid Ears Productions is proud to announce the start of production on RUB, an independent drama starring Micah Spayer and Jennifer Figuero. The film is written and directed by local Peekskill resident Christopher Fox, who also serves as the Director of Programming for The Peekskill Film Festival.

RUB follows Neal, a lonely man who gets bullied at work and is unlucky in love. His tedious life is disrupted when he decides to go to a massage parlor and the experience takes him far away from his humdrum existence. RUB is a deeply moving story about how people from completely different sides of society’s spectrum can help each other in unexpected ways. Fox wanted to tell a story that was, "gritty, genuine, and realistic, but with a sense of purpose that if one gets caught in the wrong place at the wrong time it can have unalterable consequences that can change their life forever."

Micah Spayer, who stars as the titular character, has been featured in commercials and television for the last decade. He has also been a part of the touring company for Tony n' Tina's Wedding and Broadway's Seussical. Costar Jennifer Figuero has been featured on domestic and foreign television. She was the cohost of Twitch TV’s Compete4ever and Latin Life Magazine TV's Be Terrific, and has been featured in various hip hop music videos.

While this film explores feelings of male loneliness and inadequacy, this is a story anyone who has felt like an outsider can relate to. With Stupid Ears’ headquartered at the Peekskill Hat Factory, RUB will be a truly local film that puts Peekskill's small town, big heart, and open arms approach on the silver screen.
