Man Displays Gun At Mohegan Lake Walmart: Police

The state police are asking for the public's help in identifying the person.

MOHEGAN LAKE, NY — The New York State Police are looking for a man who displayed a gun in the Mohegan Lake Walmart.

Police said, on Jan. 13, the man confronted a person shopping in Walmart and accused the person of stealing a face mask.

During the confrontation, police said the man posed as "loss prevention" and ordered the customer to come with him.

The customer refused and, police said, the man lifted his jacket to show a holstered handgun with a brown grip.

Afterward, the man left the store and drove from the area in a gray or light-colored sedan.
