Montrose Gets Grant to Fund Sewers, Businesses Say Thank You

Dennis Malles, President of the Montrose Business Association, publicly thanked several elected officials today for their efforts in securing an $850,000 grant that will help fund the Montrose Sewer District in the Town of Cortlandt, NY.

“On behalf of the Montrose Business Association and its members, I would like to thank New York State Senator Harkham, New York State Assemblywoman Sandra Galef, and Town of Cortlandt Supervisor Puglisi, along with her staff, for their continued support and perseverance in securing funds which will be used to offset the cost of sewer installation for the Montrose business district,” said Malles.

The grant will spur economic development along the Route 9A corridor by providing critical infrastructure and attracting new businesses to the hamlet of Montrose and covers an area from Travis Lane to Hendrick Hudson High School.

“With the announcement that Entergy will be closing and the loss of business this will cause to our existing local economy, this upgrade to our infrastructure will support us as we attempt to attract new businesses to our area,” said Malles.

The Montrose Business Association was established in 2013 with the mission to improve the lifestyles of local residents and businesses through community involvement and giving back to local causes. The Association has flourished with 26 members who have committed to focusing on this mission.
