NY Man Faces Charges After Police Find Stolen Car In Cortlandt

New York State troopers and Peekskill police officers went out looking for it after a tip.

PEEKSKILL, NY — New York State and Peekskill police reported finding a stolen car and arresting the driver on Wednesday.

At 10:43 a.m., the two agencies received a law enforcement tip that a stolen 2020 Acura TL out of New York City was in or near Peekskill. Shortly thereafter, Peekskill police officers located a car matching the description on East Main Street in Cortlandt.

Police said the driver was Tysean Lee, 25, of New York, NY.

Lee faces charges of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd degree, an unclassified misdemeanor.

Lee was arraigned in Cortlandt town court and sent to the Westchester County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to reappear before the court on Jan. 11.
