Peekskill Man Accused Of Having, Intending To Sell Drugs

Police said a court-authorized search warrant was executed on a home in the city.

PEEKSKILL, NY — The execution of a search warrant yielded drugs and drug-packaging materials in the city of Peekskill.

The City of Peekskill Police Department said a court-authorized search warrant was executed on a home at 1259 Jackson St.

Authorities said they seized about 70 grams of heroin, 25 grams of cocaine, drug-packaging material and scales.

Michael Mastrantone, 36, of Peekskill, was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, intent to sell, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, narcotic, and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, all felonies.

He was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors.

Mastrantone was being held pending arraignment Monday in the Peekskill City Court.

Police Chief Don Halmy said that Saturday's arrest of a dangerous drug dealer and "the seizure of a deadly amount of heroin and other narcotics is another step in the continuing efforts to the City of Peekskill Police Department to curtail the supply and sale of drugs in our community,"
