Peekskill NAACP To Hold Weapon Buy-Back Event

No questions will be asked, and no ID required to turn in weapons.

PEEKSKILL, NY — The Peekskill NAACP is buying back weapons in the city.

Sponsored by the organization's Criminal Justice Committee, the event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2 Stowe Rd., Suite No. 3, in Peekskill.

No questions will be asked, and no ID required.

The payout will be $25 for a butterfly knife or switchblade, $100 for any caliber handgun and $150 for an assault rifle, organizers said.

The weapons must be unloaded and placed in some type of safe container, police said.

All weapons will become the possession of the Peekskill Police Department.
