Peekskill Names New Athletic Director
Born and raised on Long Island, he has a strong knowledge of the school sports scene in the Hudson Valley.

PEEKSKILL, NY — Austin Goldberg, Tuckahoe's athletic director, is moving to the Peekskill City School District. Goldberg, who has been appointed to the position of Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics, will begin his new role Aug. 14.
“We are excited to welcome Mr. Goldberg to the Peekskill family,” said Peekskill Superintendent Dr. David Mauricio. “We know our athletic program and student-athletes will flourish under his leadership.”
Goldberg brings with him over 15 years of experience in education and athletics, and a deep knowledge of the Hudson Valley.

He spent 10 years in the East Ramapo Central School District. A health and physical education teacher, he was an Athletic Coordinator. At various levels and times, he was the Varsity Boys Basketball Coach, Varsity Volleyball Coach, as well as football, soccer, baseball and girls basketball coach.
Currently, he is Tuckahoe's director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics.

Peekskill school officials extolled the strong, positive school and community climate Goldberg has helped create in Tuckahoe. They pointed out that he had two different teams win the Section I Team Sportsmanship award.
In his three years at Tuckahoe, he oversaw four Section championship teams and four State Regional semi-finalists, and started Tuckahoe’s first lacrosse program in school history. He also worked hand in hand with the student athletes, coordinating various fundraisers and philanthropies. Additionally, he partnered with the Parent Teacher Association to bring presentations on current issues facing young adults and athletes to the district.
Goldberg was born and raised on Long Island, and is a graduate of Comsewogue High School. Additionally, he is a former Division I College Athlete from the University of Hartford, where he played baseball and received a Bachelors of Arts. He holds a Masters in Physical Education from Adelphi University and obtained his administration post graduate degree in Education Leadership from Stony Brook University.
“I am thrilled to be joining the team at Peekskill,” said Goldberg. “I look forward to meeting and supporting all of the students, faculty, and community. Go Red Devils!"
