Peekskill Police Warn Of Phone, Mail Scam
The attempted fraud can be elaborate and convincing, authorities said.
PEEKSKILL, NY — A different method of fraud is making the rounds and the City of Peekskill Police Department is warning residents about it.
In a Facebook post, the department said to be on the lookout for phone requests or mail from people claiming to be business representatives or a government entity complying with the law or other organizations requiring some from of payment.
The attempted fraud can be elaborate and convincing and say there will be consequences with the law if the person doesn't pay.
