Peekskill Reopening City Pool For Memorial Day Weekend
City officials said there will be a reservation system for people to choose times to swim.

PEEKSKILL, NY — Peekskill will be reopening Veterans Memorial Pool in time for Memorial Day weekend.
After being closed last season because of the coronavirus pandemic, Veterans Memorial Pool will be opening Saturday, May 29 for Peekskill residents to enjoy throughout the summer.
Catherine Montaldo, superintendent of recreation, said there will be a reservation system this summer.

In order to visit the pool, each person must purchase a daily or seasonal pass from the recreation office.
There will be two sessions on weekdays from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

On weekends, there will be three sessions: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
Each session will have a set limit of 100 people, and the facility will be cleared after each session for cleaning and sanitizing.
To attend a session, go online through the Parks & Recreation Community Pass program in advance to reserve a spot. Additionally, daily pass holders will pay for their reservations prior to arrival through the Community Pass program.
Masks will be required when walking around the pool but not when swimming, eating or drinking. Social distancing markers will be set in place at both the main entrance and concession stand as well as areas being delineated for people to set up in the lawn areas.
The locker rooms and concession stand will both be open this season, but showers will not be available for use this year.
