They asked for patience as they navigate future plans.
The Family Resource Center of Peekskill Inc. set up a fundraising site to help the tea room get back on its feet. The goal is $250,000.
The center said it was asking all of Peekskill to "help this earnest business that's resiliently provided employment to its workers throughout COVID (rain, sleet, heat or shine) and provided free meals to persons in need our our senior citizens."

"Sharing is caring," organizers said. "Together we can help our beloved neighbors at the Tea Room rebuild in an expeditious manner to cut hardship."
