S-Word In The Forecast: Hudson Valley
Here are the details plus a sneak peek at what you can expect for Halloween night 2020.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — It's only in the mid-Hudson region, and it's only a chance — but still, there's the word "snow" right there in the forecast for the end of October 2020.
See, there's a storm coming in Thursday, with cold air behind it. Actually, two storms: a wintry system coming in from the west and tropical storm Zeta (coming up from the Gulf of Mexico) are expected to meet.
"Both systems may aid each other, reorganize and merge in such a way as to generate drenching rain, gusty winds and mountain snow in the Northeast," said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist.

Along with lots of rain for Thursday and Friday, the National Weather Service predicts some snow in some parts of the region. While little or no snow would accumulate along the Hudson River in western Dutchess and eastern Ulster County, some could accumulate in eastern Dutchess, over toward the Berkshires.
The meteorologists at Hudson Valley Weather, who are cautious guys, said it's not likely, but it's possible.

"Now, there’s a long shot that some of the cold air sneaks in before the moisture is out of the region. If several things come together, it could cause the rain to end as some wet snow flakes around parts of the region," said the folks at Hudson Valley Weather. "Something exciting for us to watch, as we are reminded that the seasons are beginning to change more and more each day."
The storm and its aftermath mean that it will be cold heading into the weekend and Halloween. The NWS predicts lows in the upper 20s on Friday night, with temps not getting out of the 40s on Saturday and into the 30s Saturday night.
