Severe Storms Moving Down Hudson River

The National Weather Service reported at 4:50 p.m. that strong thunderstorms were clustered near West Point, moving south at 35 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail are possible with this storm.

Locations affected:

Ossining, Peekskill, Ramsey, Haverstraw, Tarrytown, Mount Kisco, Dobbs Ferry, Suffern, Monroe, Nyack, Sloatsburg, Cold Spring, Nanuet, Sleepy Hollow and Mahopac.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
