Train Show; Holiday Crafts; Winter Wonderland

Here are some of the events going on the weekend of Dec. 13 in Westchester County's parks.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Family fun abounds in the Westchester parks for the Dec. 13 weekend.

FRIDAY, DEC. 13 – SUNDAY, DEC. 15

Westchester’s Winter Wonderland. Kensico Dam Plaza, 1 Bronx River Pkwy., Valhalla: (914) 231-4033. Fri. 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.; Sat. 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.; Sun. 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. Celebrate the holidays close to home. A one-of-a-kind holiday experience featuring Santa’s Village, amusement rides, unlimited skating on an outdoor ice rink (skates included), the Winter Wonderland Holiday Circus, food and beverage options, and a dazzling light show. Muscoot Farm Christmas Carol. Muscoot Farm, Route 100, Somers: (914) 864-7282. Fri. 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.; Sat. 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. A magical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Tickets $12 for children, $20 for adults. SATURDAY, DEC. 14

Winter Wildflower Arrangements. Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary, 1 Playland Park, Rye: (914) 967-8720. 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Make a festive centerpiece for the holidays. Bring your own vase and we’ll help you make a beautiful winter bouquet using dried plants and natural objects. Donation $5.

Holiday Crafts: Lenoir Preserve, 19 Dudley St., Yonkers: (914) 968-5851. 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Come to the nature center to make nature holiday crafts and enjoy refreshments.

Holiday Crafts: Trailside Nature Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River: (914) 864-7322. 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Take a break from holiday shopping and make a holiday craft to take home. Refreshments provided.

Pre-Holiday Get Together: Marshlands Conservancy, Route 1, Rye: (914) 835-4466. 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Stop by to celebrate the holidays early. Gifts, food and fun will be enjoyed by all.

SATURDAY – SUNDAY, DEC. 14 – 15

Project Feeder Watch: Croton Point Nature Center, Croton Point Ave., Croton-on-Hudson: (914) 862-5297. 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. ID and count birds at Nature Center feeders with volunteers from Saw Mill River Audubon. Great opportunity for photography, indoor activity, all ages, all skill levels. Also, 12/21, 22, 28 and 29.

Holidays on the Hill Train Show: Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial, Route 35, Somers: (914) 864-7268. 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Model trains roll through a festive holiday landscape inside the main house. Decorated rooms, poinsettias and gifts for sale in the Garden Shop. Co-sponsored by Friends of Lasdon Park and Arboretum Also Dec. 21, 22, 28 and 29.
