
Paul J. Schaffer, 83, a longtime Cortlandt Manor resident, and recently of Concord, NC, passed away on March 7, 2015.
Born in Tarrytown, NY on February 5, 1932, son of the late Nicholas & Julia (nee Lemeiux) Schaffer, Paul was a graduate of Ossining HS and Westchester Community College.
Paul was part of the largest draft of the Korean War, having registered with Draft Board 12 of Peekskill serving in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954.

On October 6, 1956 at Holy Trinity Church in Yonkers, he married Edith G. D’Allessandro, who predeceased him in 2001.
Paul worked for 25-yrs at Union Carbide, retiring in 1994 as senior lab technician. His pastime was taken up by building a home, hunting, fishing and gardening.

He was a member of St. Christopher’s Church, Buchanan; and also a member of the Putnam Valley chapter of the NYS Grange.
Paul is survived by his son and daughter, Paul A. (Maria Chiarino-) Schaffer and Ann M. (Kevin) Begany; and also his 3 grandsons, Ryan and Dylan Begany, and Nicholas Schaffer. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Bryant, his sister in-laws and several nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 13th from 4-8 pm at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Peekskill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10am, Saturday, March 14th at St. Christopher’s Church, Buchanan, followed by interment in the Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
