3/15 "Solarize Pelham" Kickoff Event Well Attended, Well Received
Next Solarize Pelham Workshop Scheduled for March 28th at 7 p.m. at the Daronco Town House

The Solarize Pelham kickoff event held on Thursday evening, March 15th, at Pelham Village Hall, was a rousing success. The meeting to introduce the Solarize Pelham campaign to residents and businesses in the Village and Town of Pelham was well attended, and presentations by Solarize Westchester and Ross Solar, the selected solar installer, were well-received.
Lindsay Preftakes, Solarize Pelham team leader, introduced Ariel Spira-Cohen, Pelham Village Trustee, and Tim Case, Pelham Town Councilmember, who spoke of the enthusiastic support of both Village and Town for Solarize Pelham. Sidney MacInnis, of EcoPel, a cosponsor of Solarize Pelham, described some of EcoPel’s many initiatives and how support of Solarize accords with EcoPel’s mission.
Nina Orville, representing Solarize Westchester, introduced the Solarize program. Stephan Hartmann of Ross Solar, the selected installer, gave a thorough slideshow presentation of the practical aspects of solar installation and the costs and benefits of solar power, and fielded a range of thoughtful questions from the attendees. Questions ran the gamut from financing and cost savings, to power outages, battery backups, and the effects of snowfall on solar arrays. At the meeting’s close, several attendees remarked on the Ross team’s professionalism and thorough responses to questions. Many of those attending signed up with Ross for site visits to find out more about whether and how solar would work for them.
