AMBER Alert Canceled for 2-Year-Old

UPDATE: 3:30 p.m. — An AMBER Alert for a 2-year-old taken from Staten Island was canceled after police found missing Staten Island 2-year-old Kim Woo safe in the Bronx.

The little girl was found with her father, 45-year-old Johnny Woo, around 2:50 p.m. on the Major Deegan Expressway, an NYPD spokesman said.

Her father was taken into custody at the scene, police said.

The little girl's mother, who has custody, is reportedly a 35-year-old NYPD sergeant. The mom called in her child as missing after her estranged husband became violent during an argument about their divorce — then grabbed the girl out of her car seat, put her in his Kia Sorrento and zoomed off, according to ABC7.

UPDATE 2:18 p.m. — A New York State AMBER Alert has been widened to include Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Sullivan, and Ulster counties.

A New York State AMBER Alert has been issued by the New York State Police related to the disappearance of Kim Woo age 2 years, 11 months from Staten Island, NY at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Affected Jurisdictions: Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Westchester, Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens, Richmond Counties

The New York Police Department is investigating a child abduction that occurred at Ismay Street on Staten Island.

The child, Kim Woo, is an Asian female, approximately 2 years 11 months old with curly, brown hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 2 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 30 pounds. Kim was last seen wearing Pink Pajamas.

The suspect, Johnny Woo, is an Asian man, about 45 years old with black hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall.

The vehicle has been identified as a Black SUV 2014 Kia Sorrento with New York license plate number GHH8886. It was last seen traveling East on in the area of the Alexander Hamilton Bridge possibly heading for the Bronx.

Johnny Woo forcefully took 2 year old Kim Woo under circumstances that lead the police to believe that the child is in imminent danger.
