Ayfa Foundation Mobilizes To Support India
Donations help deliver critical medical equipment to healthcare workers in need in India as more than 3,000 people die a day from COVID-19.

You've seen the news, the second wave of Covid-19 is taking a devastating toll on India and India's health system is overwhelmed. A lack of supplies such as oxygen and beds means patients are being turned away from hospitals.
Afya is mobilizing to ship lifesaving medical supplies to local hospitals. An emphasis has been placed on replenishing India's oxygen supply, but there is a myriad of other supplies needed to ensure oxygen can be administered and that patients can receive care at overcrowded and under-resourced hospitals. Equipped with this knowledge, Afya is preparing to send the following equipment:

- CPAP Machines
- BIPAP Machines
- Ventilators
- Oxygen Masks
- Stretchers
- Medical Beds
- Exam Tables
- Oxygen Tubing with nasal cannula
- Transport Chairs
Afya is working with the U.S. chapter of Sewa International, a humanitarian relief organization in contact with the Indian Ministry of Health and local hospitals to identify critical needs. Sewa has set up distribution centers in 16 of India’s 28 states, focusing on Delhi, Mumbai, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat.

UPDATE FROM ST. VINCENT:
Afya pledges continued response as St.Vincent faces uphill battle amid continuous volcano erputions.
To date, Afya has delivered 20 pallets of supplies to St.Vincent that are being distributed by our partners at the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States. We are also shipping vital medical supplies with the help of our partners at the Clinton Global Initiative, UJA Federation of New York, and the Global Empowerment Mission. More deliveries are on the way!
Two emergency medical response groups are receiving materials from Afya to serve the displaced population of St. Vincent. The St. Vincent & the Grenadines Retired Nurses Association are using medical supplies donated by Afya to treat displaced Vincentians in 80 shelters with hypertension, diabetes, ambulatory issues, as well as the frail and disabled. Medical Professionals on a Mission is serving the displaced on Dominica.
