Bronx Stop & Shop Customers Contribute $4,057 to American Cancer Society through Purchase of Pink Ribbons

The Bronx Stop & Shop on Bartow Avenue, with the generous assistance of its customers, raised $4,057 to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Stop & Shop stores across the New York Metro region raised over $267,800. Stop & Shop collected donations from customers who purchased pink ribbons as they checked out during a two week period which ended on Sunday, October 16th

The Pink Ribbon sales will enable the American cancer Society to fund groundbreaking breast cancer research, provide free, comprehensive information and support, and help people take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.

The Making Strides program is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities to celebrate breast cancer survivors, pay tribute to loved ones lost, and raise funds to end breast cancer.
