Colonial Students Partner With American Legion Post 50 To Replace U.S. Flag
The ceremony was accompanied by the Colonial School Orchestra, which played several patriotic songs.
From American Legion Pelham: Colonial School students were joined by members of the American Legion Pelham Post 50 on Monday, June 12 for a ceremony to honor and replace the school’s U.S. Flag.
Joe Durnin of Pelham Post #50 led the ceremony and explained the process of retiring an old Flag before the new flag, presented by 4 th grader Noah DeDomenico, was delivered. The ceremony was accompanied by the Colonial School Orchestra, which played several patriotic songs.
Additionally, the students asked the Post 50 members questions about their service to the country and greeted them with fist pumps and high fives as the former members of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines filed out of the gym at the close of the ceremony.
