Former PMS Teacher Sentenced to 5 Years for Dealing Drugs and Intending to Have Sex with a Minor
Gregg Cavaluzzi was sentenced to five years on Thursday for dealing crack and intending to have sex with a minor

Former Pelham Middle School teacher Gregg Cavaluzzi, 34, was sentenced to five years in prison on Thursday for dealing crack cocaine and traveling with the intent to have sex with a minor, according to the U.S. States Attorney.
In February, Cavaluzzi pled guilty to the charges and on Thursday, Judge Kenneth Karas sentenced Cavaluzzi to five years in prison and five years of supervised release.
“I don’t know if I ever saw a more stark contrast between the two lives Mr. Cavaluzzi led,” remarked Karas.

In November 2008, Cavaluzzi purchased and dealt 10 grams of crack cocaine and the following spring, Cavaluzzi repeatedly called and text messaged an undercover Westchester cop posing as a 15-year-old girl. In May of 2009, Cavaluzzi traveled to meet up with the undercover officer in Elmsford, NY with the intention of having sex with her.
“It is a sad day when a promising teacher and athletics coach is sentenced to five years in prison,” said Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara. “Unfortunately Greg Cavaluzzi preordained this day by his reckless and very serious illegal behavior.”
