GameStop Announces Store Closings
Will the store in Pelham be one of the affected locations?
PELHAM, NY — Gamers should be alerted that one of the latest retailers to signal that closings are imminent is GameStop.
While the list of closures has not been made public, there could be 150 stores shuttered, according to Columbus Underground.
The retailer has locations throughout the Hudson Valley, including Yorktown, Yorktown Heights, Mohegan Lake, New Rochelle, Port Chester, Yonkers, Poughkeepsie, White Plains, Ossining, Pelham, Nyack, Nanuet, Spring Valley, Brewster, New Paltz and Newburgh.

So if your favorite GameStop location is in one of those towns — and it is slated to close — you'll have to find another place to shop.
The company’s latest sales and earnings report for fiscal year 2016 said it would close between 2 percent and 3 percent of its stores.

GameStop will be opening about 35 new Collectibles stores worldwide and about 65 new Technology Brand stores.
GameStop operates more than 7,500 stores across 14 countries and is headquartered in Grapevine, TX.
