Hurricane Dorian Hudson Valley: Afya Helps Bahama Survivors
Here's a chance to act locally with a global impact, apt if you are looking for a way to mark the anniversary of Sept. 11.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With the 9/11 Service and Remembrance days coming up, here's something you can do right now: help a local charity help the victims of Hurricane Dorian.
Afya’s mission is to improve global health by rescuing surplus medical supplies and delivering them to underserved health systems around the world. Since its inception in late 2007, the Westchester County-based nonprofit has shipped several hundred 40-foot containers packed with recovered humanitarian and medical supplies to more than 70 countries globally.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian's devastation, Afya has met with the Bahamas Consulate and together constructed a multi-phase relief plan. The supplies they will pack and ship have all been donated from the Greater NYC area.

There are many ways you can help: Go to the warehouse to sort and pack humanitarian supplies. Financially support Afya's effort to help those affected with a donation large or small. Collect and/or donate supplies for those attacked by the hurricane.
There's also Afya's Luggage for Life Program. For all who are traveling to relief areas, take an Afya Luggage for Life duffel bag of medical supplies with you to support the access and the delivery of urgently needed care. Click here for information.
