Literacy Night at Hutchinson School Engages Over 40 Parents

Attendees learned about the K-2 program to promote early reading and writing skills.

From Hutchinson School: More than 40 parents attended Literacy Night at Hutchinson School on Monday, Nov. 28 to learn about the K-2 reading and writing program.

Dr. Maria Thompson, Director of Humanities, and Julie Liebersohn, reading teacher and K-5 Literacy Coordinator, spoke with parents about developing early reading and writing skills. They also shared activities that parents can do at home to help children become life-long readers and writers.

A similar Literacy Night was held on Nov. 17 for parents of students in grades 3 through 5.
