On Mother’s Day at Williamsbridge Center on Tomlinson Avenue, resident and Bronx native Madera Dolores turned 103 years old! Equipped with their masks and clinical staff in their PPE, they celebrated in the dining room six feet apart.

The family, who would have been inside celebrating with Madera, celebrated outside of Williamsbridge Center, peeking inside at the birthday festivities.

These are tough times for residents and families not being able to be with each other in person, but the family was so grateful that we recognized Madera’s 103rd,” said Monique Sampson, Recreation Director at Williamsbridge Center. “Madera and her family are so wonderful, we love her. Hopefully soon we will be back to normal.”
