2. Speaking of ice cream there’s a new fat-free frozen dessert in town for you to try. just introduced its self-serve frozen yogurt bar. Fill up on your favorite flavors and topics, all $.50 an ounce.
3. The Greenburgh Nature Center has planted the seeds for many projects, and now they’re bearing fruit – literally! The Nature Center has been selected as a finalist in the Communities Take Root national competition. Created by Edy’s Fruit Bars and the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, the competition will provide fruit orchards to community organizations to promote healthy eating. Cast one vote a day by registering online, going to the Map or List by State category and selecting Greenburgh Nature Center under New York (Scarsdale). Votes close on Aug. 31, so make sure to sign up as soon as possible.

4. Stop the presses! On July 5, will screen “Page One: Inside The New York Times” at 7 p.m. along with a Q&A discussion led by guests Bruce Headlam, media desk editor for The New York Times, Andrew Rossi, director of “Page One” and Daniel Pine, executive producer of “Page One.” Pricing is $11 for general admission; Seniors, $9; Students, $9; Child, $8; Picture House members are admitted for free. 5. The American Red Cross in Westchester County is holding an emergency blood drive today in an effort to boost the critically low blood supply due to last winter’s snowfall. All potential donors are encouraged to give blood, especially type O negative donors. The drive will be held in White Plains at 106 N Broadway from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Call 1 (800) RED-CROSS for any questions.
