Pelham School District Athletes of the Week

PELHAM, NY — Pelham School District names Athletes of the Week:

Owen Anastas, Junior - Football - 4 tackles (all solo), including 1 tackle for loss in his team's 49-26 win over Roosevelt. Owen has 9.5 tackles on the season, including 3 tackles for a loss.

Anthony Madeira, Senior, Football - Anthony had 4.5 tackles (3 solo, 3 assisted) and 1/2 tackle for a loss. Anthony has 22.5 tackles on the year (16 solo, 13 assisted) and 3 tackles for loss. Anthony has started every game for the Pelicans at middle linebacker.

Nick Milanese, Junior – Football - Nick was 4 for 5 passing for 74 yards and 1 touchdown. He has 512 yards passing on the year and 8 touchdowns.

Charlotte Howard, Freshman - Cross Country - Helped Pelham finish second in league. Ran personal best race and made All League.

Oliver Nicholson, Sophomore - Cross Country - Made All League. Ran an excellent race.

Madeleine Nicholson, Senior - Cross Country - Helped Pelham finish second in the league. Ran an excellent race. Made All League

Charlie Miske, Sophomore - Cross Country - Made All League. Ran an excellent race.

Greg Gordon, Senior - Soccer - 10/16 vs. Harrison led the team defense; 10/17 vs. Eastchester held opponent to a scoreless 100 minutes of soccer; 10/19 vs. Keio held opponent to one goal in OT.

Deena Kouroupas, Junior and Nora Tahbaz, Sophomore – Volleyball - In 2 wins over Ursuline and Rye, Pelham improves to 12-2, Deena and Nora contributed the following: Deena - 47 digs and 3 aces; Nora - 18 kills, 5 aces and 19 digs.

Madelyn Dunbar, Sophomore - Field Hockey - Madelyn has the most assists on the team so far. In Saturday's game vs. Byram, she scored two goals of her own. She has been such a big part of our mid-line, and our defense being our flyer and stopping multiple corners.

Delia Crotty, Junior - Field Hockey - Delia had 2 big goals in our game on Tuesday evening as well as putting two away on Saturday's game! For her first year on Field Hockey, she has become a big part of our forward line.
