Pelham Schools Honor Athletes of the Week

From Pelham Public Schools: Seniors Thomas Horowitz, Justin Ramsey and Jack Ravitz, and sophomore Samantha Volpe were named Athletes of the Week.

Horowitz, competing in a swim meet on Jan. 17 against Keio Academy, swam two personal best times in the 50 and 100 freestyle, in which he finished under 53 seconds for the first time. In a meet on Jan. 19 against Nyack, he swam another personal best in the 50 freestyle and qualified for sectionals.

Ramsey and Ravitz helped the boys basketball team to a 43-33 victory over Harrison. Ramsey scored 10 points and had two steals while Ravitz added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the win. Volpe had two outstanding performances for the girls basketball team, notching 15 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocks against Byram Hills and 17 points and 12 rebounds against Harrison.
