PELHAM, NY - From Pelham Public Schools: Seniors Manon Bushong, Kim Rosell, Dan Bernstein, Johnny Hernandez, Zach DeBraz, Andrew Shulzhenko and Kieran Gilchrist, and juniors James Nespole and Mark McNenney were named PMHS Athletes of the Week.
In a volleyball match against Walter Panas HS, Bushong tied the school record for blocks in a match with 7 while also recording 14 kills. In the same game, Rosell notched 24 digs and 3 aces. Comprising the offensive line for the Pelham football team, Bernstein, Nespole, Hernandez, DeBraz, Shulzhenko, McNenney and Gilchrist helped the Pelicans to a 34-14 road win over Briarcliff HS on Sept. 23. The team rushed for 270 yards in the game and has gained more than 150 yards rushing in each of their four games this season.
