PPS Board Holds Annual Re-organizational Meeting

From Pelham Public Schools: The Board of Education of the Pelham Public Schools will meet on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 for its annual re-organizational meeting. The public session is scheduled to begin at 8:15 pm in the Middle School Library on the second floor of Pelham Middle School, 28 Franklin Pl, Pelham, NY 10803. It is anticipated that the Board will meet at 6:00 pm and go immediately into Executive Session in the Superintendent's Conference Room before the public meeting.

Prior to the public session, members of the Pelham community are invited to attend a reception for incoming superintendent Dr. Cheryl Champ that begins at 7 pm in the PMHS library.

During the public meeting, the Board will elect its new leadership, including a president and vice president and administer the oath of office to new members Jessica DeDomenico and Sue Bratone Childs. The Board also expects to formally appoint Dr. Champ as superintendent, effective August 8, 2017. Additionally, Russell Davidson from KG&D Architects will review preliminary findings related to the Hutchinson façade replacement and projects at other school buildings.

The full agenda will be available for viewing 24 hours before the meeting.

In addition to Dr. Giarrizzo's Superintendent's report, the agenda may include updates from each School Board committee, Dr. Garcia on 21st Century Learning and Professional Development, Rosemary Matthews on Networks of Support and Social-Emotional Development, and a report on Finances and Facilities.
