Pre-Dawn Crash On The Hutch In Pelham

PELHAM, NY — Westchester County Police reported a serious one-car accident on the southbound Hutchinson River Parkway at 3:30 a.m. Monday. The crash occurred when the driver lost control after traveling down the ramp from the Cross County Parkway at a high rate of speed, police said.

The vehicle struck a guide wall on a curve, went airborne and landed on its roof. The driver, a woman in her 30s who was not wearing a seat belt, had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx with some serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Pelham police, Pelham Fire Department, Mount Vernon Fire Department and Empress Ambulance assisted at the scene, police said.
